Introduction to Yin Yoga

(Recommended as a three part series broken down into Physical, Mental/Emotional & Energetic) A combination of Yin Yoga, pranayama, meditation and lecture this class will provide the student with foundational theory, function and physical, mental/emotional and energetic benefits of a yin yoga practice with ample opportunity to connect experientially to the energy and intention of each shape.

Exploring Yin Yoga and Mindfulness

Yin yoga is a natural doorway into the heart of the Buddhist teachings of mindfulness.   In this workshop, mindfulness practices will be introduced to the student then weaved throughout the framework of the class unveiling opportunities for deeper inquisition while participating in a quiet yin yoga practice.  Students will end class fully supported in restorative poses and a long, luxurious final relaxation with diffused essential oils.

Fire & Water

Understanding the link between Respiration, Circulation & Elimination. Energetically and physically, the health of our organs and our emotional/mental health are deeply connected.  In this Yin Yoga workshop you will learn to practice shapes that stimulate and balance energy in the heart, lungs and small and large intestines while also nurturing the kidneys and the urinary bladder.  We’ll explore the intertwined relationships between the organs and how spending time to nurture the energetic health of each organ pair can translate into better physical and emotional/mental wellbeing.

Journey Through The Meridians

Through Yin Yoga practice, lecture and hands on stimulation of acupressure points students will  learn how each yin shape targets specific meridian lines in the body and stimulates balancing energy directly into specific organ pairs resulting in stronger physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.  *Can be offered as a single two and ½ hour experience or in a three-week series.

Hanuman, Hips & Hamstrings

In this lively blended Yin/Yang experience we’ll open deep connective tissue space in the low back, hips and hamstrings through both passive and active asana while connecting deeply to our own innate courage by opening our hearts to infinite possibilities.
